Silicon Monuments is a unique immersive Augmented Reality (AR) documentary tour that covers a 300 acre site. Explore and hear the history of Silicon Valley through interaction with augmented models of historic computers, buildings, sculptures and images.

Visit the site of one of Silicon Valleys first high tech campuses in South San Jose and relive the stories embedded in this site through the voices the people who played an important role it this history. Walk inside buildings where the first hard drive was designed. View historic images of Silicon Valleys agricultural past. Hear the voices of people who worked in the high tech industry at its inception. Interact with unique artworks and sculptures that were once installed in reflecting pools of this historic site.

Silicon Monuments was created by artist Elliot Anderson in conjunction with the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (http://www.SVTC.org) and released through Augmented Mountain Ltd. - Always hold your device horizontal

- We do not have control over the environment where you use this…please be careful to stay aware of your surroundings.

SITE SPECIFIC:

- Go to 5500 Cottle Road in South San Jose California to visit the site specific location.

- Open app. Hold the device in landscape mode in front of you. Walk toward the exhibition in the parking lot. Listen for introductory sound. Turn 360 degrees and look for hard-drive augment.

- Once youve located the augment, you can lock it to your view by pressing the lock icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You can also bring it closer or push it further away by moving the slider on the right hand bottom corner of the screen.

- There are four augmented areas. When you are finished with one area, you can turn the lock off and move to the next area. Feel free to press lock whenever you wish to lock the assets to your device. This keeps the GPS signal from interfering with your exploration.

- Touch the augment, spin the sculptures and hard-drive, touch images.

- Walk around the site and look for images, voices, and 3D models. Have fun exploring!
